JOSEPH'S HUMILITY
Genesis 41:14-32

Joseph's friend? the cupbearer tells Pharaoh about Joseph's ability to interpret dreams. Pharaoh's dream horrifies him and after his "wise" men are unable to tell him what it means, he quickly sends for Joseph. Think about it- Joseph has been in "the pit" and all of a sudden he is cleaned up, given clothes that make him presentable before a king and finds himself the most sought after counselor in the country. Have you ever thought about this? Joseph's ability to interpret dreams is what made his brothers mad and got him sold into slavery. And now that same gift is being used to save a nation and those same brothers. Joseph could have taken great pride in his "gift" and felt superior to those around him, but in Genesis 41:16, 25 he gives all the glory to God.

Each of us have to join with Paul and confess that by the grace of God, I am what I am- 1 Cor. 15:10. The holiness of God and his mercy extended to us- depraved needy creatures- crush any thought of self-sufficiency. We have no ability in and of ourselves to minister to the world- to those that God lays in our path. How often do you think God for the gracious gifts he gives you? Not nearly as often as we should. As Bro. Vernon Floyd says- "it ain't about us- it's all about Him." Comments?
