JOSEPH REMEMBERED
GENESIS 41:1-13
God never said His people would have easy lives. On the contrary, the first promise of salvation said that the woman's seed will have His heel bruised (Gen. 3:15). The woman's offspring (Christ and those who trust Him) will suffer at the hands of the serpent and his seed(all that hate the Lord). Jacob was forced to serve Laban for twenty years (Gen. 31:36-42).
But the bruising of the woman's seed is not all that God promised in Genesis 3:15. He promised that the Messiah and all in Him (believers) would crush Satan's head and have final victory over evil. THE SUN IS COMING UP IN THE MORNING just like the song says!
The story of Joseph in Egypt is that kind of story. A young man is sold into slavery by his own brothers- thrown into prison unjustly and yet it appears he never loses hope. How many of us can say we lean on the Lord with such faith? Not me. Joseph- by the grace of God- was used to save a nation.
Think about it- if the chief cupbearer had commended Joseph to the pharaoh right away, Joseph might have gone back into Canaan and would not have been in a position to interpret the dream and save his family. The cupbearer took his own sweet time- two long years before he mentioned Joseph. How many of us would have gotten discouraged? Joseph looked back in Genesis 50:20 and said that God's timing is always right! The Lord may not intervene when we want Him to, but he always intervenes according to HIS timing. COMMENTS?
Pray for Ms. Francis. Pray for Debbie. She has eye surgery tomorrow and she is not looking forward to it- her good eye (left). Pray for Bill McLean. On Friday, he will have a heart procedure that may require angioplasty- in Lawton.
